Regional Emergency Management Collective

The Regional Emergency Management Collective (REMC) is a partnership of ten municipalities formed for the purposes of emergency management planning and administration. The collective was formed in 2024 and includes ten municipalities both from Alberta and Saskatchewan, which matches the City’s unique bi-provincial identity. Our Saskatchewan partners include the Rural Municipality of Brittania No. 502, the Rural Municipality of Eldon No. 471, the Town of Marshall, the Town of Lashburn, and the Rural Municipality of Wilton No. 472. Our Alberta Partners include the City of Lloydminster, the Village of Kitscoty, the Village of Marwayne, the Town of Vermilion, and the Village of Paradise Valley.

The map below demonstrates the location of our regional collective.

The purpose of the collective is to create regional resilience by developing strong emergency management programs for all municipalities involved in the collective. This includes:

  • Developing and maintaining emergency plans for each community
  • Ensuring municipal staff are familiar and trained with their emergency plans
  • Working closely with community partners and stakeholders on emergency management initiatives
  • Providing public education so residents are informed on how to be prepared for emergencies
  • Providing support to communities during times of emergency.

This partnership is beneficial for all communities involved in the collective as it not only strengthens the individual community, but also creates resilience throughout the region – from Saskatchewan to Alberta. The City of LLL is proud to be the founder and administrator of this program.
