Emergency Preparedness
The City of Lloydminster supports Emergency Management programming in a variety of ways:
- Preparedness – The Emergency Management Department supports community preparedness by helping residents learn how to be ready for emergencies. We share information through school presentations, community engagement sessions, social media, and informational booths at local events to raise awareness and promote personal and community preparedness.
- Response - During emergencies, the Emergency Management Department works closely with emergency services, municipal partners, and stakeholders to support a coordinated response. We help maintain situational awareness by keeping all relevant partners informed with timely updates as the situation develops.
- Emergency Alerting - Emergency alerts are an important way to quickly share critical information that can help keep people safe during emergencies. In Saskatchewan, SaskAlert and Alberta, Alberta Emergency Alert, alerts are issued through official emergency alerting systems and sent directly to compatible mobile phones, radio, and television to warn the public about immediate threats. It’s important to keep alerts enabled on your devices and follow local alerting channels so you receive timely information and know what actions to take when it matters most.
Emergency Kit
In an emergency, responders may be busy helping others. Building a 72-hour emergency kit provides the supplies needed to support you and your family for three days until help arrives.
