  • City Council passes 2025 mill rate

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – City Council passed the 2025 Mill Rate Bylaw during the May 20 Regular City Council meeting. The updated bylaw lowered both the residential and non-residential mill rate increase to 2.47 per cent from the 4.5 per cent budget approved in 2024.

  • City of Lloydminster to begin property assessment inspections

    Lloydminster, AB/SK— The City of Lloydminster will begin property assessment inspections on May 12, 2025. Residential property inspections will occur in the Central Business District, East Lloydminster neighbourhoods, north of Highway 16 (44 Street), and Lakeside throughout the summer. Non-residential property inspections will take place in the Hill Industrial Park and Glen E. Neilson area.

    Lloydminster, AB/SK— The City of Lloydminster is encouraging residents to have their say on the future of waste management in the community. As part of the development of the Integrated Waste Management and Facility Master Plan, the City has launched a public survey to gather feedback on key waste management and diversion initiatives.

  • UPDATE: Grass fire forces temporary closure of Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre

    Lloydminster, AB/SK — The Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre is temporarily closed due to a grass fire that has reached a treed area along the southern boundary of the golf course.

  • City begins process to amend Borrowing Bylaw

    Lloydminster, AB/SK — The City of Lloydminster is seeking to amend its Borrowing Bylaw (Bylaw No. 03-2022) to fund $7.38 million of the $101.3 million Cenovus Energy Hub project. While the construction project remains on budget and on schedule for completion in fall 2025, a shortfall in provincial funding has required the municipality to assume a larger portion of the total cost.
