  • Outdoor ice surfaces closed for the 2024/2025 season

    Lloydminster, AB/SK— The City of Lloydminster has closed all city-maintained outdoor ice surfaces for the season, including Bud Miller All Seasons Park. Fluctuating temperatures, along with recent and ongoing warm weather, have made it difficult to maintain ice quality and ensure safe skating conditions.

  • Annual Seniors Information Fair returns on March 13

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – Seniors and their families are invited to attend the annual Seniors Information Fair on March 13, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Legacy Centre (5106 46 Street, Lloydminster).

  • Outdoor Winterfest activities adjusted due to extreme cold

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – Due to extreme cold temperatures, all outdoor Winterfest activities at Bud Miller All Seasons Park have been cancelled for the safety of participants and staff. Families can still enjoy a full lineup of indoor activities, including:

    • Bioclean Aquatic Centre - Free public swimming with a DJ (12:00 - 3:00 p.m.)
    • Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre - Family curling and hot refreshments
    • Lloydminster Museum + Archives - Crafts, exhibits, and heritage activities
    • Servus Sports Centre - Bounce units, Family Puck and Stick, indoor shinny, Cozy Games, and more
  • City of Lloydminster receives Canadian Award for Financial Reporting

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster’s annual financial report for the year ended December 31, 2023, was awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).  The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting program encourages municipal governments throughout Canada to publish high-quality financial reports and to provide peer recognition and technical guidance for officials preparing these reports.

  • City of Lloydminster names new Fire Chief

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster has named long-serving member Bill Heesing as Fire Chief of the Lloydminster Fire Department (LFD).

  • City of Lloydminster to conduct organic green cart contamination inspections

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – Starting February 17, 2025, the City of Lloydminster will begin implementing contamination inspections on organic waste carts to improve waste diversion efforts and reduce organic waste contamination.

  • Property owners to receive 2025 assessment notices

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – Lloydminster residential and non-residential property owners will begin receiving their 2025 property assessment notices the week of February 19, 2025.

  • Lloydminster Fire Department secures equipment funding from Cenovus

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Lloydminster Fire Department has received funding from Cenovus to purchase new equipment that will improve fire safety training and enhance emergency response capabilities.

  • Lloydminster Museum + Archives to host "Black History in Canada – Lived Experiences & Stories Untold" exhibit

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Lloydminster Museum + Archives will be hosting "Black History in Canada – Lived Experiences & Stories Untold," a temporary exhibit running from February 3 to 28, 2025. The exhibit features personal collections and archival holdings, offering a unique opportunity to reflect on Black heritage in conjunction with Archives Week.

  • City Council approves municipal status for Lloydminster Public Library

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – Lloydminster City Council has approved the transition of the Lloydminster Public Library into a municipal library under the Saskatchewan Public Libraries Act
