Inspired by Lacombe’s Edwardian Revivalist downtown architecture the Edwardian Era in the West exhibit unravels the hidden histories of Western Canada’s small communities and the lasting impact of this transformative era.

Curated by the Lacombe Museum with financial support from the Museums Assistance Program Access to Heritage fund and the Government of Canada.

 

 

Labours of Love, Under Lamp Light

Labours of Love, Under Lamplight is an exhibition featuring art from Indigenous artists in Saskatchewan, highlighting a diverse array of experiences and interpretations of Indigenous Art. The exhibition celebrates the various practices in Indigenous art, ranging from contemporary aesthetics and materials to those rooted in familial traditions.

Have you ever wondered why food spoils? Take a look at how and why food decay happens, in this quirky and engaging exhibition. As you step inside an oversized pantry, discover why food goes bad, as well as the role scientific innovation plays in keeping food fresh, nutritious, and safe for as long as possible. You’ll find lots to feed your mind and imagination on the menu; but watch out for the spoiled food smell simulator.

This exhibition is developed by the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum and toured by Ingenium.

The Juried Fine Art Show is a competitive exhibition featuring Canadian artists who have submitted their artwork to a juror to determine the works to be included in the exhibit, and the winners in their category. This show provides artists with opportunities to display their work and compete for prizes and recognition.

Witness Blanket

November 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026

The Witness Blanket is a large-scale work of art inspired by a woven blanket. It contains hundreds of items. They were reclaimed from residential schools, churches, government buildings, and traditional and cultural structures from across Canada. It stands as a national monument to recognize the atrocities of the Indian residential school era. It honours the children and the Survivors. It symbolizes ongoing reconciliation.

The Witness Blanket, an exhibition based on the art of Carey Newman and developed in collaboration with, and circulated by, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (Winnipeg, Manitoba).
