This five-part series will help you to understand healthy social media presence, safety and usage. One ticket is required for all sessions.
Together the Mental Health Working Group an the City of Lloydminster are hosting a five-part social media awareness series. Each session will feature a unique topic and facilitator.
This series is designed for parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, caregivers, social workers and anyone who has an online presence.

October 8 | Social Media and The Effect of Health and Wellness
Explore how technology impacts our health, relationships, thoughts and behaviours, and how it can positively support users. Learn the basics of staying safe online and the importance of staying well online, because there's no app for that!
October 15 | The Connected Brain
An interactive session using Dr. Bruce Perry's neurosequential model to understand how stress, emotions and social media affect brain function, learning and well-being. Attendees will learn practical strategies to regulate, build connections and strengthen focus, memory and decision-making.
October 22 | Online Safety
Learn about common risks, start meaningful conversations, set healthy digital boundaries and take home valuable resources which assist teens and kids safe online. Have the opportunity to ask Const. Sims social media-related questions and receive informative two-way support.
October 29 | Swipe, Scroll and Repeat
This session will teach how social media can influence behaviour, contribute to addictive patterns and affect overall well-being. It will provide strategies for developing healthier online habits and maintaining balance in an increasingly connected world.
November 5 | Helping Kids Thrive in a Connected World
Bringing key insights together with practical strategies to help kids thrive online. Explore healthy digital habits, positive online experiences, responsible digital citizenship and an introduction to CyberSafely. Attendees will receive resources and an opportunity for two-way dialogue.
